Event Details

Napier City Council is calling for feedback on changes to the system for identifiying and repairing earthquake-prone buildings.

The changes, outlined in the Building (Earthquake-prone Buildings) Amendment Act 2016, refer in particular to where unreinforced masonry buildings could obstruct transport routes, or harm people if they fell in an earthquake.

Council has identified five areas – the Napier CBD, Taradale, Ahuriri, Onekawa and Marewa Shopping Centres – which would have the greatest impact on people, and wants to know if it has these areas right.

For more information, and to have your say here by 5pm Friday 31 May.
