Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market to be held outside throughout the year

The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market, held each Sunday in Hastings, will continue to be outdoors in the Waikoko Gardens at the Tomoana Showgrounds Hawke’s Bay throughout winter.

Traditionally the market has moved into the exhibition hall and grandstand at the Showgrounds, but the overwhelming public opinion is that the preferred location of the market each Sunday is its regular positioning in the Waikoko Gardens, Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market Marketing Manager Alexandra Martin said.

“Following the Covid-19 lockdown when the market reopened, it stayed in its outdoor location throughout the winter into spring to adhere to the regulations put in place by MBIE in order to operate under level 2.”

“There was a hugely positive response from Hawke’s Bay locals once we re-opened and so the Farmer’s Market has now taken the decision to continue with the market remaining outdoors throughout the cooler months,” she said.
