One of Hawke’s Bay’s high voltage community events, Blast in the Park, is set to make a big bang thanks to new naming rights sponsor Nexia Hawke’s Bay.
The night of spectacular entertainment, food, and fireworks at Anderson Park in Havelock North Village has been a ‘must attend’ for families for nearly two decades. This year’s event will be held on November 1.
Havelock North Primary School Principal Nick Reed said Nexia Hawke’s Bay’s involvement goes beyond a traditional sponsorship.
“It’s a partnership that reflects Nexia’s dedication to the wellbeing of the community and the education of young people.
“Supporting Blast in the Park is more than a financial contribution; it’s about helping to create lasting memories for families, ensuring the event remains a cherished tradition for years to come, and directly contributing to impactful projects for Havelock North Primary School.
Nexia Hawke’s Bay Director Mark Knofflock said the well-established firm was keen to back a popular event, which raises much needed funds for projects that enhance the school’s learning environment.
“As a firm that has been part of this community for more than 100 years, we see this as an opportunity to give back and invest in the region’s future.
Nexia Hawke’s Bay replaces Havelock North based business Stockco, which had been the events major sponsor for many years.
Steve Gregory, Blast in the Park Committee Chair, says this year’s event will be a night to remember, featuring live entertainment, fun stalls, bouncy castles, food trucks, and a grand fireworks display set to light up the night sky at 9pm.
“The event serves as one of Havelock North Primary School’s main fundraising efforts, contributing to school resources and educational initiatives.
“The event draws people from all across Hawke’s Bay and is a much anticipated fireworks spectacle.”
