IRONGATE INDUSTRIAL ZONE

This is an exciting new Hastings initiative to satisfy an increased demand for short and longer-term use for dry industries that require a large land area but smaller building footprint. Irongate is suitable for general industrial and commercial use including cold-stores, logistics and warehousing and distribution.

It would be a great home for General wood/wood product manufacturing, textile product, and the broad metal product based manufacturing sector, other manufacturing activity, transport, storage, wholesaling and distribution of industrial products.

Located 5 minutes south of Hastings City, Irongate offers excellent access to Northern and Southern Highways, and as a new development provides new owners and tenants with Greenfield development opportunities.

Anchor tenants within the new Irongate zone include Sunfruit Orchards Limited, NZL Transport, and The Carr Group. Stevenson’s Transport have an established hub at Irongate for their operations and the Hastings District Council intends to expand the Irongate zone within 2017. Upon completion of this process, the Irongate Industrial Zone will also encompass the rigid plastic packaging supplier Waipak, packaging and processing icon, Tumu Timbers and Farmers Transport.

This is a unique zone, on the outskirts of Hastings City, specifically designed to meet the needs of food companies. It sits on 22.5 hectares of privately owned land alongside the global food processor Kraft Heinz..

The Tomoana Food Hub offers design, build and lease options to food-related businesses of any size, allowing them to grow without tying up large amounts of capital in land and buildings.

The 22.5 hectare area of land can host any business operating within the food industry, from packaging to product development. The co-location arrangement allows for sharing of knowledge, resources and profit-enhancing efficiencies.

A number of companies have already come on board the Hub and are enjoying the benefits of operating in a collaborative workspace. Individual tenant needs are catered for in a flexible approach that fosters value-adding wherever possible. Full logistics and warehousing are available, enabling tenants to proceed with their core businesses without additional administration concerns.
