First Light premium wagyu in Hawke’s Bay is celebrating something pretty special this week.

They’ve just been name-checked, by Forbes, who are calling their product the “best beef in the world.”

Forbes is a mega publication, with over 70 million unique visits every month to their site.

Jason and Gerard at First Light hosted New York journalist Katie Chang in late December  – they’re absolutely delighted and excited by this result.

This has positive implications for their profile in the USA, which is their biggest market and is also great news for the NZ Beef and Lamb industry in general.

Here is one small piece from the story.

“Founded in 2003 by Gerard Hickey, Jason Ross, and Greg Evans, the New Zealand-based company specializing in grassfed Wagyu is disrupting the American beef industry with a transparent business model and a simple goal. “We lead by example, from end to end, to provide the best beef in the world,” says Ross. It’s an extremely tall order, but something this intrepid company of 30 is staunchly dedicated to – even if it means going up against Big Beef in America.
