Hawke’s Bay people enjoy a relaxed pace of life. Surveys show 84 percent of us have good to excellent health, and 85 percent are happy and content.
Hawke’s Bay has an excellent public hospital and health service and a comprehensive range of private surgical facilities and consultants. The Hawke’s Bay District Health Board employs over 2,600 staff and spends $1.45 million on health care in the region every day. Their vision is simple – “we want everyone in the Hawke’s Bay district to be healthy” by providing excellent health services by working in partnership to improve the health and wellbeing of our people, and to reduce health inequities within our community.
The region is well served with specialist services and health centres, a private hospital (Royston Hospital) with a comprehensive range of private surgical facilities, over 5000 health professionals, more than 200 GP’s region-wide and 27 aged residential care facilities.
