My Walk In Wardrobe looking for local business sponsors

My Walk In Wardrobe is New Zealand’s largest sustainable fashion market and it’s now operating in Hawke’s Bay and looking for a local business to come on board as a sponsor. Buy and sell preloved, upcycled, vintage, handmade, locally made clothing, shoes, jewellery and accessories for all genders and sizes!

Katy, the founder of My Walk in Wardrobe started these markets back in Tasmania, many years ago, after wanting a cheaper, sustainable clothing option, without buying low-standard, fast-fashion. “I moved to Wellington in 2019 and 1 month later, trialled our first market, the line of people reached nearly a kilometre down the road. This was when I realised that Kiwis loved the idea.”

Whether you’re a budget conscious shopper, trying to be more mindful of the environmental impact of fast fashion, into thrifting, wanting to find that vintage band tee or you want to make some extra cash by selling what you’ve cleared out of your wardrobe My Walk in Wardrobe will work for you.

My Walk in Wardrobe also assists local charities “at the end of each market, stallholders have the option to donate any of their unsold clothes to our chosen local charities which are not on-sold, but given away! Local Woman’s Refuge is one of our preferred groups we support” says Katy “we are also conscious of our impact on the environment, we even choose to advertise sustainably, relying on digital media and word of mouth for 95% of our promotion”.

“The past 4 years, have been exciting, we’ve grown so much, we have 3-4 events in 6 locations around Wellington, Hawkes Bay and Taranaki, this includes an event manager in Hawke’s Bay with a support crew. We’re so thankful of the community of sustainable buyers and sellers who support us we’d love you to join us at our next event.”
