There were smiles all round at The Apple Press when the 2018 New Zealand Food Award finalists were announced. Hawke’s Bay’s lifestyle beverage company, The Apple Press, were given the nod in two categories; The Non-Alcoholic Beverage Award for The Apple Press JAZZ™, and New Zealand Food Safety Primary Sector Products Award, also for The Apple Press JAZZ™. Sally Gallagher, co-founder of The Apple Press said they were ecstatic to be a finalist. ‘We only launched in May so to be recognised at a national level after a short space of time is just amazing. We are so grateful for all the support we’ve had to get us here, particularly from Callaghan Innovation, T&G Global, NZTE, and of course all the apple juice lovers around New Zealand who grab us out of the chillers” The awards showcase the best New Zealand has to offer in the food and beverage industry and celebrate the creative innovations from Kiwi food and beverage manufacturers, from artisanal products through to large-scale companies. The New Zealand Food Awards expert judging panel includes celebrity judges Bite magazine’s Ray McVinnie, chef Geoff Scott, World Kitchen television host and chef Nici Wickes, and New Zealand’s only certified cicerone (beer expert), Josh Scott.
