Fly from Napier to Wairoa, Gisborne and Tauranga with Sunair

Need to travel between Napier and Wairoa or Gisborne, but can’t face the thought of driving? Now there’s an alternative that will save you time and stress, and get you there a whole lot faster.

Hawke’s Bay Airport has collaborated with Sunair to bring fast flights; weekday air services connecting Napier, Wairoa, Gisborne, and Tauranga.

The East Coast roading network was severely damaged by Cyclone Gabrielle. And even though the roads are open, they are still vulnerable, with journeys taking much longer than normal.

By contrast, a fast hop by plane from Napier to Wairoa takes less than 30 minutes, and costs just $190 one way. If time is at a premium or you can’t be bothered with the hassle of driving, there’s no better way to get there. Likewise, flight times to Gisborne are around 45 minutes, making it easy to do a day return trip for business or pleasure.

Hawke’s Bay Airport has teamed up with Wairoa and Gisborne Airports to bring Sunair to Hawke’s Bay and Tairawhiti. The airline saw a need and is proudly supporting East Coast communities to stay connected. Wairoa Mayor Craig Little says the additional connectivity is a win for Wairoa, and Hawke’s Bay Airport CEO Rob Stratford says the airport is pleased to do its bit in empowering connections between people, businesses, and places.

There are two flights each day between Napier and Wairoa, and Napier and Gisborne, as well as a daily flight between Napier and Tauranga, and Gisborne and Tauranga.
